Abdol-Ali Badraie Lorestani was Born in Kermanshah, on March 29th, 1921. Having graduated from the Military Academy in Kermanshah and Tehran, he started his career in the military as lieutenant. Badraie’s first mission in 1946 was to fight the secessionists and instruments of foreign influence in Azerbaijan and the rebels in Kurdistan. The defeat of the two puppet states of the soviet block (namely the People’s Republic of Kurdistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan) was made possible by a coordinated effort between the Imperial Iranian Forces and the brave Azeri and Kurdish citizens of Iran. Following the victory of December 12th, 1946, Badraie was transferred to Imperial Iranian Guards and continued to proudly serve his country as part of this unit. On October 26th, 1954, further to recommendations from the Ministry of War and in recognition of his good services to Iran, Major Badraie was promoted as adjutant to His Imperial Majesty and Commander of an Immortal Battalion, which was an elite unit of the Imperial Guards. In 1967 he was further promoted to Brigadier-General, as second in command of the Imperial Iranian Guards. Promotions through the ranks continued. In 1971 Badraie was promoted to Major-General, becoming the Commander of the Immortal Guards by 1973. On March 16th, 1975, he was promoted to Lieutenant-General, receiving Imperial Order 1st Class by October 26th, 1976, as Commander of the Imperial Iranian Guards. On January 10th, 1979 he was appointed as the Commander of the Imperial Iranian Ground Forces. The culmination of Badraie’s military career came in February of 1979, when he was honored with a soldier’s death, making the ultimate sacrifice in the service of his country, his people and his King. May he rest in peace and may his memory and examples in goodness, honor, patriotism, loyalty, dedication, pure service and sacrifice continue to serve his country, inspiring the sons, the daughters and the lovers of Iran in the ages to come.
